The challenge

Tracking the air time given to te reo Māori on the radio is vital for funding, yet it’s notoriously time consuming. How can we make it effortless to see when and for how long te reo is on the air?

The strategy

We created a snapshot of the on-air data with colour coded slices of time. The repetition and variance of the slices creates a rhythm that highlights patterns and peak usage.

The results

The design enabled funding agencies to get a realtime understanding of how much te reo was on the air. It earned a Purple Pin at the Best Awards. Made with the team at Salted Herring and Dragonfly.
